2. This fall, under the leadership of Bishop Joensen, we are conducting a comprehensive survey of the entire Diocese of Des Moines family. This planning study will enable us to determine potential support for a major fundraising effort designed to keep our excellent Catholic schools affordable and accessible, support our priests and reinforce our parishes so that they remain vibrant centers for worship and faith formation.

If our community chooses to move forward, the study will also provide us with information on how to prioritize the goals, identify prospective campaign leaders and establish a realistic campaign goal. The diocese has retained the services of the Steier Group, a national Catholic development firm, to conduct this study.

Today Bishop Joensen is asking all of you to share your thoughts regarding these plans. You can give your feedback by completing the online survey at dmdiocese.org/planning. The password is study2020.

3. This Sunday we support Catholic Home Missions Appeal. Your support funds religious education, seminary formation, lay ministry training, and other programs that build vibrant faith communities right her in the US. Envelopes for this can be found on the bulletin tables. Thank you!
